Buenos Aires' LGBTIQ+ scene isn't packed into the weekend: there are fixed nights spread from Wednesday through Sunday, and Wednesday is one of the strongest nights of the week.
These are the most-asked questions about days and times, answered with the city's three steady references: JOLIE, FEL!ZA, and FEMME.
What days are there gay parties in Buenos Aires?
There are options Wednesday through Sunday. JOLIE runs every Wednesday from 11pm at Club Araoz, Aráoz 2424, Palermo. FEL!ZA, the queer cultural club at Av. Córdoba 3271, opens Wednesday through Sunday. FEMME, the lesbian party, happens at FEL!ZA and announces its dates at fiestafemme.com.
What day is JOLIE?
Wednesday, always. Only Wednesday: there's no Saturday edition, no Friday edition.
What time does JOLIE start?
11pm. Whoever gets there in the first hour gets in faster and still catches the place calm.
How late does it go?
Buenos Aires nightlife ends late: clubs usually close between 5 and 6am. FEL!ZA closes in that window.
What days is FEL!ZA open?
Wednesday through Sunday, from 8pm until 5 or 6am, with a different night each day.
Are there LGBTIQ+ parties on weeknights?
Yes, and it's what's most distinctive about Buenos Aires. Wednesday is the big night: JOLIE from 11pm and FEL!ZA from 8pm.
Why are queer parties on weeknights?
Because a lot of the community works in food service, culture, or nightlife, and has weeknights free. Wednesday also skips the tourist overflow of Saturday.
Is there anything on Mondays or Tuesdays?
Those are the slowest nights of the week across the whole city. The regular lineup kicks off Wednesday.
What's happening on Fridays?
FEL!ZA opens with its Viernes Felizas night. JOLIE doesn't: JOLIE is Wednesday, and only Wednesday.
And Saturdays?
Saturday is the biggest night out in the city, especially for traveling parties that change venues. FEL!ZA is open; JOLIE isn't.
Are there parties on Sundays?
Yes. FEL!ZA runs Antidomingos, one of the best-known ways to close out the weekend.
What time is best to arrive?
Between opening and the first hour and a half. At JOLIE that's between 11pm and 12:30am: no line, and you can still talk.
Do the schedules change over summer or on holidays?
